• software description • download software • tutorial • simulations Simulations • Michael & Jennifer • James & Angela • Tracy The following three simulations will demonstrate to you the way Dream Calculator© can be applied to different life situations. They will also give you an opportunity to practice using the software before creating your own financial plan. We suggest that you pick the simulation most closely resembling your personal situation and explore the process and the results. What you will need to do first is open a blank copy of Dream Calculator© (download it here if necessary). Once you have the software ready, read the first part of the simulation up to the section "Results" and simultaneously translate the information onto the spreadsheets.* Finally, read the "Results" part of the simulation and verify the results you get in the spreadsheets with those in the simulation. It might be a good idea for you to read the software description before proceeding to a simulation. * When working with the section "Retirement Goals", please put the name of the first spouse in the simulation next to "You" and that of the second spouse next to "Spouse". Michael and Jennifer have recently been married. Michael is a 32-year-old finance professional, earning $55,000 per year and wishing to retire at the age of 67. Jennifer is a 29-year-old teacher, earning $40,000 per year and wishing to retire at the age of 60. James and Angela have been married for almost 20 years. James is a 45-year-old store manager, earning $53,000 per year and wishing to retire at the age of 65. Angela is a 46-year-old hospital nurse, earning $62,000 per year and wishing to retire at the age of 62. Tracy is a 35-year-old executive secretary, earning $42,000 per year and wishing to retire at the age of 60. Tracy is divorced and is raising her 5-year-old son. |
